Indonesia, It's Not Just Bali

I visited my boyfriend's hometown few days ago. He was bragging how awesome it was all the time. And for that fact, he showed some photos from the proud land.

Banyuwangi. Heard the name a lot but never in my whole life set my foot there. Few options to reach this city, located on the east of Java, Banyuwangi can be access through some options. There are some direct flights but you can also drive from Surabaya or Bali (Denpasar). Both took approximately 5 hours driving. Difference is, from Bali you have to cross the ocean which only take you 45 minutes.

Weather wise, it's pretty much the same with almost other cities in Indonesia. Hot at day time and a bit chill at night time. The city itself is pretty much developing, you can spotted some free wifi on almost every public park.

No 5 stars hotel that can spoil you, but some 2-3 stars hotel can accomodate you just fine. No Starbucks, no Mc.Donalds, only KFC has opened their outlet. You can be easily tempted with local food. "Nasi Tempong" (Rice with very spicy sambal) or "Rujak Soto" are one of their favorites.

What are the excitement?

Amazingly, Banyuwangi has everything! Green mountain, Ocean, Beach, Sulfur mountain, and the best part: Savana. I can't believe my eyes when I got there. Baluran is a national park, where it is pretty much Afrika experience. Located about an hour from city center, and 12km from the entrance gate to the Savana, Baluran captured my heart. Rocky road that we took until I barely feel my butt (sorry for being honest), is totally worth it. And if you continue for another 3km, you can enjoy the Baluran beach.

I actually wanna brag about every thing here, but hey, I want you to explore Indonesia more! Ssstt... there's a small island call Tabuhan, where you can see sunrise and sunset, which is pretty rare. And do you know that G-Land, the 2nd best waves for surfer after Hawaii is located here also?

Tease you with some pictures, feel free to ask me questions. I'm planning to create a group trip to Banyuwangi soon, anyway.
