For the Love of the Beach

It's a throwback story. I was still living in Jakarta back then, and the only options for me to go to the beach at that moment was going to Bali, which it took you 1.5 hour flight with a pocket full of cash. Until one day, a best friend invite me to their beach house in Bayah, Roemah Pulomanuk ( Pulomanuk House). Dang! I found another escape.

Bayah located approximately 5-6 hours of driving from Jakarta. Sounds better to go to Bali? Maybe at first. We're leaving Jakarta around 10pm and arriving at Bayah around 2.30 am. If you are a rookie with the route, don't try to drive at night, it might confuse you though. Since it was dark, I cannot see anything, but yet I got this beautiful bedroom with fresh ocean's air and amazing set of bathroom.

Do not expect to be able to get in touch with anyone while you are in Roemah Pulomanuk, it might frustrate you at the beginning, but after a while you will feel a certain comfort that you are not nagging to your mobile phone. For me, it's a sanctuary. You got the chance to finish 3 books in 2 days, you got a chance to have a little run at the beach, get a sun tan, play at the water or maybe to sleep all day.

When morning comes, I finally see the whole place. It's consist of 3 different bungalows, an outside kitchen and outdoor dining table, with a direct access to the beach. The first bungalow that I slept in, consist of another 4 rooms and a bathroom, with a nice porch outside that allow you to see the whole place. Another bungalow is a private use of my best friend and her loved one. The third one is the main house, where the indoor kitchen exist, a living room and dining table. Each bungalow has their own porch where you can sit or lay while enjoying the sound of the waves.

Since this place is quite far from public places, you might want to bring your own groceries or other options you can ask to have the all inclusive package. Ah yes, this place is rent, I will share the detail. Fresh fish is always available if you ask the helpers in the morning, all kind of vegetable can be find. Just make sure of your request from the beginning.

The place is surrounded with green trees, there's a path for you to walk to the beach which is a 30 seconds away, and it feels like a private beach. You can totally spent hours there if the weather is fine. When the dawn came, you can have a private outdoor movie theatre. Pick the movie before you leave and ask for this extra service. I guarantee it will be a perfect escape for couple, family or group of friends. I believe these pictures can speak on its own.
