What To Do in New York in 6 Hours!
I know it will never be enough to see every part
of the Big Apple in 6 hours, but when you are aiming for the renown tourist
spots and take some pictures, it’s more than enough.
Here some spots that I tent to visit when in New
York:
1.
Greenwich
Village
To all FRIENDS sitcom freaks out there, this is
like a pilgrimage. A total religious experience. Located at the corner of Grove
and Bedford Streets, you will directly imagine the live of 6 singles people
that grew up with you. I can’t stop my gratitude when I was there, even though
the shoot itself was not even held there. Central Perk is actually named the
Little Owl, which has blue and red color, and has different interior with
Central Perk. The feeling was amazing, and now every time I re-run Friends at
home, I’m proudly saying “Hey, I’ve been there!”

2.
National
September 11 Memorial
Goosebumps. That’s the first thing I get when I
reach the former twin towers that located at 180 Greenwich St, New York. I
really can’t imagine what was happening back then. I could hear people
screaming and crying for help for the fact that they will never ever see their
loves ones anymore. I can’t help it. It was breaking my heart to pieces. Read
all the names there, so many personal life run through my head, how they live,
how they love and their memories. So sad. They also sold a rubber bracelet,
which the money will go to donation of the people the victims left.
3.
The Empire
State Building
I was unlucky that day. It was raining and foggy,
so the ticket for fast lane that we already purchased was left unused. The
security guy warned us before we enter, because the visibility was 0%, so it’s
going to be useless if we use the ticket. However the ticket was valid for 1
year.
4.
Times Square
Thousand of lights, hundreds of billboards,
thousand of people are there to see the magical feeling. And yet, you feel that
you are in New York. You might see people of all kind, such a melting pot. It
feels like you’re in Disneyland also, because you will find all Disney
characters from Woody to Elsa. You can see people asking for money under the
name of God or even Weed! Seriously! I was laughing my as* off. It’s a must
place to visit.
5.
The Liberty
Of course you have to visit the Liberty. That’s
minus one of my checklist. You have to cross by boat to the Staten Island where
the statue is located. It was marvelous. The big lady will make you smile from
ear to ear. But you have to be smart on taking picture of yourself there, so
many people are doing the same thing and you don’t want them on your picture.
There’s a gift shop where you can visit and get some authentic souvenirs. I got
myself the statue replica, keychain, pencil and fridge magnet. It’s a must!

6.
New York City
Fire Museum
The New
York City Fire Museum is located in the former quarters of FDNY Engine Company
No. 30, a renovated 1904 fire house at 278 Spring Street between Varick and
Hudson Streets in the Hudson Square neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. I
totally cried here, to witness all the items that burnt on 9/11 and see the
photos of the tragedy and reading all the notes to their loved ones for the
hero that want to rescue others but caught in the fire. Again, heartbreaking.
There are actually more places to visit, but if
you only have 6-8 hours, these are places that surely worth to visit.
Don't forget the Central Park:
Then the Robert Indiana's Love Sculpture:
The Charging Bull:
and I will definitely going back to see all the musical on Broadway Street!
