Jason Mraz, Thank you for the 10 Years of Celebration!
I found Jason Mraz when the song You and I Both released back in 2004, 14 years ago! Since then, I always following his new singles and albums and in love for almost all of his songs.
Then I got lucky, on 2008, I saw Jason Mraz in Singfest, Singapore Music Festival in Fort Canning. I flew all the way from Jakarta and stay one night only to catch him LIVE. I remember I borrow a professional camera from a friend to manage taking a good photos of him. I got lucky also cause on that time, Jason still bring his Polaroid camera on stage, taking pics of the band and himself and giving out to the crowd. And I got Toca's photo! It was awesome. Even though it's not a 2-hours concert, but it brought me joy.
In 2009, Jason Mraz finally came to Jakarta to perform at Java Jazz Festival, two-days performance. I met him after the first day show, he was very nice, he signed my photos that I took on Singfest, and he gave me a hug and what is more awesome is he sang a song that I requested for the next day. The song was Clockwatching.
Then came 2011, I was still living in Jakarta, I flew to Bali to see Jason Mraz: A Special Accoustic Evening with Toca Rivera. And again, I was lucky to met him backstage and he still remembered. Such as nice person he is.
7 years later: Mraz is back with a concert!! Flew to Singapore again. Haven't got the ticket, just go show to the National Stadium and yessss, still got the ticket. I was so happy and sing from the start to the end. Even when people are not standing up, I still dancing on my own. I can say from the whole 5 Jason Mraz's concert, all are totally different experiences.
This time, Jason change his band and brought the Raining Jane and trust me, it's one of the best performance ever. When he was singing I Won't Give Up, the magic filled the air, with lights from everyone's phone, glittered in the darkness. During the song that he supposed to have a duet with Meghan Trainor, on the song More Than Friends, he popped out a doll, which was one of the highlight on the concert also.
Another interesting story is the small meditation Mraz's asked us to do in between, asked us to all take a deep breaths for couple of times. And to quote him,"if you take the breath away, well, the whole thing falls apart, it's the first thing we do when we were born,"We take a deep breath and then we shit. That how it works. It's messy and there's a whole lot of cleaning up to do, a whole lot of looking after each other."
The Good Vibes concert was closed with Have It All, and it took my breath away, hands up, the most enjoyable concert I've ever been! I will always be your number one fan, Jason Mraz. Thank you for the 10 years celebration.
