An Easy-Going French Wine: Roche Mazet Merlot Pays D'OC 2020

I don't know what's wrong with me and Merlot. It's just the perfect to-go wine for me. Today, after work, I ran myself to the nearest grocery store and prepared to be surprised of whatever options they have there. After a long of searching and trying to remember everything I've learnt on WSET level 2 to read the label, my choice goes to Roche Mazet Merlot Pays D'OC 2020. Fair price, consider cheap for a French Wine. Pays d'Oc is the IGP (Indication Géographique Protégée) for red, white, and rosé wines made in a large area along the southern coast of France. The IGP area is roughly the same size as the Languedoc-Roussillon wine region, which is one of the biggest winegrowing areas in France. Merlot's name derives from the French word for "blackbird," "merle." It originates in northern Aquitaine and is France's most popular grape variety. It also thrives in North America, Chile, and Italy. This popular vine yields intensely colored, smooth wines with red-fruit notes. Merlot is planted in hundreds of vineyards worldwide, but it thrives in Pays d'Oc's various circumstances. Roche Mazet selected the greatest Merlot vineyards in Languedoc-Roussillon and mixed terraced and colder grapes. This wine was carefully selected to highlight its Merlot aromas. Roche Mazet's Merlot is aged in barrel to give an exceptional taste.
If we see, the intensity is medium ruby colour and the nose intensity is medium. You can smell the red fruit character such as red currant, red cherry and red plum also the the black fruit character like blackberry, blackcurrent with a touch of pepper, cloves, and since it's aged in barrel, it gives a bit of earthy and dried fruit flavour. Give it a sip, hold it in your mouth, do a small gargle, give a little bit of air and you can taste that the wine is off dry with low acidity and high tannin. With only 13% abv (alcohol by volume) this wine is pronounced with long finish and very easy to drink without pairing.

Nyaman. Itu Saja. Bukan lain yang dicari.  Nyaman. Itu Saja. Bukan berlebih yang diminta.  Bahagia saya tidak sama dengan bahagiamu. Bahagia saya adalah rasa nyaman. I’M GETTING HITCHED: HEN PARTY AT THE MALL!!!!

My girls were blew me away with a day I will never forget!!! I know they are very creative people, but I don’t expect them to be “TOO CREATIVE”, and they all keep saying that they are busy. At first I was a bit devastated that none of my bridesmaid was seemed planning something, but they did it behind my back. (Ladies, I type this with my middle finger). No clue, no sign, I was just being a good friend cause she said she wanted to tell me something.
